GIS (Geographical Information Systems) is a useful way of capturing and storing data, and displaying it as information. There are many way of doing this, where a variety of different spatial assessments can be performed in order to assist with various decision-making processes. Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) is a common way of performing an assessment, where a variety of input datasets are used to create a single-layered output.

Ekosource uses GIS on a daily basis for a variety of different purposes. These purposes range from creating simple maps (for example, catchment maps for Alliance for Water Stewardship purposes) and atlases, to complex MCDA models to create a mapped output for a specific purpose.
